OVERVIEW
A Healthy Witch Breakfast is a puzzle game in which the player guides cockroaches towards a blender, using only a flashlight and pieces of food. The goal is to obtain 9000ml of cockroach juice to get to the next level. This game was made in 48 hours for the ENJAM game jam.



GAME DESIGN
We wanted the player to feel grossed out by the cockroaches on screen and have fun pushing them around with his flashlight. For that reason, we spent a lot of time designing and fine-tuning their AI until they had an interesting swarm behavior and a well balanced unpredictability to their movements. Once this AI was well on its way, we designed levels adapted to it. What we got in the end was not a puzzle game in which the player has to think precisely about his moves before-hand, but rather a fast paced experience in which he has to keep up with rowdy roaches.
