OVERVIEW
Inner Space is a short, five minutes experience in which you are an idea trying to get out of a mind, into the outer world where it can finally be free. This game was made in 48 hours for the 2018 Global game jam.
GAME DESIGN
In Inner Space, the player controls a ball, representing an idea, in a planetary maze, symbolizing a thought process. The player has to guide the ball towards a hole to get to the next level. We wanted each level to be its own universe with a singular atmosphere and maze type, to show how an idea can go through many obstacles and hardships before finally being realized. To quickly prototype and communicate the level design to the other members of the team, I used what was at hand and drew mazes on clementines.
