OVERVIEW
Fragments is a narrative game in which the player controls Aaron, a retiring arcade room owner. Wandering around in his old arcade, Aaron can interact with objects to reminisce about key moments of his life. This game was made in seven days for the Bored Pixels Jam.
GAME AND NARRATIVE DESIGN
The player has to explore the arcade room and interact with objects to trigger Aaron memories. Five memories can be viewed, and each one tells a little story that, once put together, give the player an idea of what Aaron went through during his life. An emphasis is put on his relationship with his daughter who left the house to become her own person. A parallel is drawn with his impeding retirement: Aaron feels like his life is changing and he's losing what mattered to him, his daughter and a job he loves.
